National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected preparations for the upcoming III UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries during his working visit to the Balkan velayat. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Congress Center in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone on the Caspian Sea coast, where the main events of the international forum will be held. He got acquainted with the technical equipment of the building, including a large and small hall for holding conferences, including in an online format.
The National Leader stressed the importance of ensuring a high level of preparation of the premises and creating conditions for the effective work of foreign delegations. The Head of the Halk Maslahaty gave relevant recommendations on the equipment and design of the halls in accordance with modern standards.
During the boat trip, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov got acquainted with the progress of work on the development of tourism infrastructure in the "Avaza" zone. The head of the Halk Maslahaty also inspected the preparation of hotels where the conference participants will be accommodated, and facilities for holding cultural and humanitarian events.
The forum plans to organize a unique festival of friendship with the participation of representatives from Central Asia and other countries. As Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, the conference will be one of the main events of the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan.
The National Leader held a working meeting with the heads of relevant departments, during which issues of accelerating the pace of preparatory work were discussed. He emphasized the need for high-quality performance of all construction and repair work within the established timeframes.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also instructed to ensure broad coverage of the international forum in the media, including daily publications on the issues under consideration and decisions taken.
