President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the residents of the city of Arkadag on the second anniversary of the opening of the first “smart city” in the country’s history, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
“I congratulate you with all my heart on the second anniversary of the city of Arkadag, the only “smart” city in the history of our country,” the message says.
The head of state noted that Arkadag, built in the foothills of Kopetdag, has become a symbol of the successful development and economic power of Turkmenistan. According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the city embodies the best examples of world and national architecture and meets international standards.
Over the two years of its existence, Arkadag has received prestigious international certificates and awards confirming its high performance in the field of urban development, innovative technologies and ecology, the President emphasized.
Currently, social facilities, high-comfort residential buildings, branches of ministries and departments operate in the city. Thousands of citizens of Turkmenistan have been provided with new jobs and housing in Arkadag. Digital technologies are being widely introduced into the management of the housing stock.
The President noted the great interest of the international community in the city and its modern appearance. Arkadag regularly hosts international forums, conferences, festivals and cultural events.
“We will continue to build the second stage of this city for the benefit of our people, which glorifies our Motherland with its beauty and modernity,” said Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
