Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Board of the South Korean company Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. Jeong Won-ju, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The company representative expressed gratitude for the meeting, noting that it is a great honor for Daewoo to work in Turkmenistan. Jeong Won-ju congratulated the head of state on the second anniversary of the opening of the city of Arkadag and conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae-myung.
“Our country attaches particular importance to strengthening relations with the Republic of Korea, based on the principles of mutual understanding, respect and trust,” said Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
As the head of state noted, large Korean companies have been implementing important projects in the oil, gas and chemical industries of Turkmenistan for many years, making a significant contribution to the development of bilateral economic cooperation.
The President of Turkmenistan recalled that the state concern Türkmenhimiýa and Daewoo signed a contract for the construction of a complex for the production of mineral fertilizers at a chemical plant in Turkmenabat. "This marks the beginning of a new stage in the history of bilateral cooperation," Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, wishing success in the implementation of the project.
A representative of Daewoo confirmed the company's commitment to strict compliance with contractual obligations and thanked for the opportunities provided to work in the Turkmen market.
