President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan Rana Abu Hijleh. During the meeting, the parties confirmed their desire to strengthen bilateral ties and discussed prospects for expanding cooperation, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The Palestinian diplomat expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and conveyed best wishes from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to both the head of state and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The head of state, congratulating Ms. Abu Hijleh on the start of her diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan, emphasized the country's commitment to the policy of positive neutrality and openness to constructive interaction with the states of the Middle East.
Among the priority areas of partnership, the parties identified trade, export of Turkmen petrochemical, textile and agricultural products, as well as the development of cultural and humanitarian exchange.
The President of Turkmenistan confirmed his readiness to consider practical proposals from the Palestinian side and wished the Ambassador success in her work. The Ambassador, in turn, assured that she would make every effort to advance Palestinian-Turkmen relations.
