The gross domestic product (GDP) of Turkmenistan in January-April 2025 increased by 6.3% compared to the same period last year. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, TDH reports.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the highest growth was recorded in the transport and communications sector (11.1%), trade (9.9%) and services (8.8%). In construction, the growth rate was 4.4%, in agriculture - 4%, in industry - 0.6%.
The total volume of production for the reporting period exceeded the figures for the same period in 2024 by 9.7%. Retail turnover increased by 12.4%, and foreign trade turnover - by 2.2%.
The revenue side of the state budget was executed at 101.5%, and the expenditure side at 97.6%. Salaries at large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 11.5%. The volume of capital investments developed from all sources of financing increased by 11.4%.
After hearing the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to take the necessary measures to further develop economic sectors and maintain stable GDP growth rates.
