Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Noker Atagulyev presented a report on the country's economic achievements for the first quarter of 2025. According to him, trade turnover increased by 13% compared to the same period last year, and production increased by 1,2%. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
The most notable progress was noted in the textile industry, where growth was 14,2%. Cotton yarn production increased by 42,9%, fabrics by 50,9%, and leather goods by 40,4%. Garments and knitwear showed growth of 4,3%. The state association "Türkmenhaly" exceeded the plan for carpet production by 5,1%.
During the reporting period, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 72 trading sessions, during which 6878 contracts were registered. The growth rate of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's work was 102,1%.
The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs also demonstrated positive dynamics. The volumes of agricultural and food production increased by 7,1%, and industrial production by 4,3%.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having heard the report, emphasized the need for further development of the digital economy and e-commerce. The head of state instructed to pay special attention to providing the domestic market with food products and popular goods, as well as expanding the range and increasing the volume of textile products.
