President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, the news program “Watan” of Turkmen television reported.
Expressing deep gratitude for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss topical issues of traditional cooperation in a personal conversation, the guest conveyed warm words of greeting from the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who addressed sincere wishes of happiness, well-being and prosperity to the top leadership and people of Turkmenistan.
Having warmly welcomed the distinguished guest to Turkmen soil and thanked for the kind words, the head of state Serdar Berdimuhamedov conveyed his best wishes In return to the President of the Russian Federation and the fraternal people of the friendly country.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the current state and priorities for the further development of bilateral partnership, taking into account the existing mutual interest.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of relations with the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation. Regular meetings and contacts at the highest level are one of the main factors of systemic and effective bilateral cooperation.
The head of state thanked the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan for his active participation in the International Forum dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguluxc Fragi, which took place in October last year.
The Interlocutors noted with satisfaction that for centuries the Turkmen and Tatar peoples have maintained friendly relations based on common cultures, a single religion, similar languages, traditions, as well as respect for each other and equality.
Rustam Minnikhanov especially emphasized the desire of the Turkmen people to preserve national traditions and unique culture, once again thanking for the opportunity to once again visit Turkmenistan.
An equally Important aspect of Turkmen-Tatar relations, by common opinion, is cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including in the fields of education, culture and art.
Taking this opportunity, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed the intention of the Turkmen side to continue active work aimed at strengthening multifaceted cooperation with fraternal Tatarstan within the framework of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation.
The head of state also recalled that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 was declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, which is enshrined in the relevant Resolution of the UN General Assembly. In this regard, on December 12 this year, a representative Forum will be held in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. Inviting the head of the Republic of Tatarstan to take part in it, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed deep confidence that this will be a significant contribution to the successful holding of this major international event.
At the end of the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov exchanged mutual wishes for good health and further success in their work, and for the fraternal peoples of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan – peace, well-being and prosperity.
