In Turkmenistan, as a result of the comprehensive measures taken, GDP increased by 6.3 percent in January, including the growth rate in the industrial sector was 1 percent, in construction - 2 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 11.1 percent, in trade - 9.9 percent, in agriculture - 4.2 percent, in the services sector - 9 percent.
Deputy Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov reported this today at a government meeting, speaking about macroeconomic indicators for January of this year, TDH reports.
As reported, in comparison with the same period in 2024, the volume of manufactured products increased by 9.2 percent, positive production indicators were achieved by industries.
During the reporting period, retail turnover increased by 11.1 percent, foreign trade turnover - by 1.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
The revenue side of the State Budget was executed at the level of 101.9 percent, and the expenditure side – at the level of 97.4 percent.
The amount of wages in large and medium-sized enterprises of the country in January is 10.6 percent higher than in the same period of 2024. Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were financed on time.
Compared to the same period of the previous year, since the beginning of this year the volume of capital investments mastered from all sources of financing has increased by 27.3 percent.
The progress of the National Rural Program implementation was also reported.
After hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of carrying out relevant work to successfully solve the tasks defined for 2025 in the Program for the Socioeconomic Development of the Country in 2022–2028.
“It is necessary to take the necessary measures to effectively use investments directed towards economic growth and improving the social and living standards of the population, as well as to maintain a stable rate of GDP growth and ensure coordinated development of industries” the head of state noted, addressing specific instructions to the Deputy Prime Minister in this regard.
