Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a telephone conversation during which they discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation within the UN and the CIS, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
During the conversation, the ministers agreed to intensify interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries through bilateral visits and consultations.
In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of the International Year of Peace and Trust, and discussed in detail the events scheduled for the year with the participation of Turkmenistan and Russia, including on the UN platform.
Particular attention was paid to the development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
