Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan A. Movlamov took part in a round table entitled “Dialogue of the Ambassadors of Central Asia and Azerbaijan on Regional Connectivity,” which took place on February 6 at the Institute of Regional Studies Islamabad (IRSI).

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, among the important areas of interaction were: strengthening political and diplomatic ties, exploring ways to increase trade and investment, promoting energy cooperation and regional connectivity, developing contacts between think tanks and expanding cultural diplomacy, as well as cooperation to strengthen climate change resilience among countries in the region.

In his speech, A. Movlamov spoke about a number of large energy and infrastructure projects initiated by Turkmenistan, including TAPI and TAP. Particular attention was focused on the construction of the Serhetabat-Herat section of the transnational TAPI gas pipeline.

In this context, it was emphasized that in addition to ensuring energy security, these projects will undoubtedly give impetus to the economic development of the region, will help create tens of thousands of additional jobs and improve the well-being of the peoples of the participating countries.

Also speaking during the event were Senator Mushahid Hussein Syed, IRSI President Jauhar Salim, and ambassadors of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan.
