On January 3, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree establishing the State Organizing Committee for high-level events to mark the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, and approving its composition.
“Independent neutral Turkmenistan, as an authoritative and responsible member of the world community, actively participates in modern international life. In this regard, our country puts forward important initiatives to address pressing issues on the global agenda – strengthening peace, security and stability, maintaining sustainable development, as well as social, environmental, humanitarian and other issues. Today, they are effectively being implemented through the adoption of multilateral documents,” the document notes.
The decree was signed In order to implement the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly “2025 International Year of Peace and Trust”, unanimously adopted by the member countries of the Community of Nations at the initiative of Turkmenistan on March 21, 2024, to celebrate a glorious anniversary in the life of the modern Turkmen state – the 30th anniversary of neutrality, as well as to ensure a high level of significant international forums, conferences, meetings, celebrations and events scheduled to be held during the year together with reliable and constructive partners of Turkmenistan – foreign countries and international structures – on the occasion of the announcement of 2025 in Turkmenistan as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, TDH reports.
