President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to Acting President of the Republic of Korea Choi Sang-mok in connection with the crash of a passenger plane of Jeju Air, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries, TDH reports.
“On behalf of the people, the Government of Turkmenistan and himself personally, the head of state expressed words of sincere sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims at this difficult moment, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured,” the statement said.
A Boeing 737-800 of Jeju Air, flight 7C 2216 from Bangkok to Muan, on December 29, while landing at the airport, flew past the runway and crashed into a fence. A fire broke out. There were 181 people on board, including six crew members. According to the latest data, 179 people died.
