On December 19, the Turkmen Agricultural Institute became the center of international scientific dialogue, bringing together representatives of 84 higher educational institutions and research centers from 14 countries at the online conference “The Role of Biotechnology in the Sustainable Development of the Agricultural Sector,” a representative of the institute told Turkmenportal.
The conference brought together scientists from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Pakistan. The event was opened by the rector of the institute D. Yolov with a welcoming address to the participants.
The conference was organized in five key areas, covering the entire range of modern biotechnologies in agriculture: from genetic engineering and breeding to bioremediation and environmental sustainability. Particular attention was paid to education and capacity building in the field of agrobiotechnology.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of research works in the field of agro-industrial complex was organized. A total of 260 reports were presented during the conference, the best of which were especially noted at the final meeting.
