Turkmenistan pays great attention to strengthening economic cooperation between the CIS member states. This was stated by the Permanent Plenipotentiary Representative of Turkmenistan to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS, the country’s ambassador to Belarus Nazarguly Shagulyev at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Moscow.
As the diplomat noted, the country will promote further development and strengthening of cooperation and partnership based on equality, good neighborliness and mutual respect, RIA Novosti reports.
“This will ensure the progressive dynamics and development of the Commonwealth, the growth of well-being and quality of life of the peoples of the member states,” the plenipotentiary emphasized.
Cooperation within the CIS has been and remains one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy.
“We fully support the traditionally important areas of our cooperation, including development in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. Meetings of the creative intelligentsia of the Commonwealth countries, various festivals with the participation of cultural figures, youth and children’s groups are held on a regular basis. We propose to further expand our partnership for the benefit of our peoples,” N. Shagulyev noted.
