1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on awarding the jubilee medal "In Honor of the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi" to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The award was presented for merits in the implementation of program reforms in the country, bringing cultural and humanitarian ties with the states of the planet and international organizations to a new level, building bridges of peace, friendship and brotherhood between peoples. In addition, the head of state awarded the National Leader of the Turkmen People the International Prize named after Magtymguly.
2. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov awarded the title of "Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan" to the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yyldyrym. In addition, Yyldyrym was awarded a jubilee medal in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and his contribution to the popularization of the creative heritage of the great Turkmen poet.
3. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Executive Director of the UN Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Natalia Gherman. During the conversation, issues of strengthening the international legal order and developing a multipolar system of global governance were discussed.
4. The renovated “Ak Yol” market, covering an area of almost 11 000 square meters, has been officially opened in Ashgabat. The new market complex impresses with its scale and capabilities. 5. A delegation of members of the Federation Council headed by the Chairman of the Committee on Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities Vyacheslav Timchenko paid an official visit to Ashgabat. The members of the delegation held a number of meetings in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan to exchange experiences and strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. Russian senators also got acquainted with the work of the Joint Russian-Turkmen Secondary Comprehensive School named after A.S. Pushkin.

6. The Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony for 2024 was held in Oslo, Norway. The honorary award was given to the Japanese organization “Nihon Hidanke”, which unites the surviving witnesses of the tragedy of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The ceremony, as always, took place on December 10 – the memorable date of Alfred Nobel’s death – and was held in the city hall with the participation of representatives of the Norwegian royal family.
7. A scandal involving a serious breach of biosafety protocols has erupted in the Australian state of Queensland. Local authorities have launched an investigation after a significant number of virus samples mysteriously disappeared from a research lab. The incident, which occurred in August 2023, only recently came to light. 323 vials of potentially deadly viruses, including rare and particularly dangerous strains, disappeared without a trace from the research facility.

8. On the occasion of the Day of Oil and Gas Industry and Geology Workers of Turkmenistan, a mini-football match was held in Balkanabat with the participation of veterans of Turkmen sports and journalists. The friendly match between the Balkan velayat and Ashgabat teams ended with a score of 3:3. Evgeniy Tkachenko scored twice for the Balkan velayat team, and Azat Garajaev scored another goal. Nazar Bayramov scored twice for the capital team, and Vladimir Bayramov scored another goal.
9. The first semi-final matches of the Turkmenistan Football Cup will be held on December 12 and 13. On Thursday, “Nebitchi” will host “Arkadag” on its home field in Balkanabat. The match will start at 14:00 local time. A day later, on December 13, “Ahal” will meet “Altyn Asyr”, the game will start at 15:00 at the “Nisa” stadium in Ashgabat.
