The humanoid robot CUE6, developed by Toyota, set a new world record for the longest basketball shot, throwing the ball into the basket from a distance of 24,55 meters. This is reported by tochka.by with reference to Interesting Engineering.

Despite this result, the robot has not yet managed to surpass the human record, which is 34,6 meters. CUE6 attempted to beat this achievement, but the ball bounced off the ring.

It is worth noting that this is the second entry of a Toyota robot in the Guinness World Records. In 2019, he set the previous record by making an unbroken streak of 2020 accurate throws from a distance of 3,6 m.

Artificial intelligence plays a key role in these advances. The robot uses a neural network to constantly improve its skills, analyzing each attempt and adjusting the throw parameters in real time.

The CUE6 project began in 2017 as a personal initiative of a group of Toyota engineers who spent their free time developing the robot. Their passion led to the creation of a unique machine capable of incredible sporting achievements.
