The 16th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov began in Budapest, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
“Hero Arkadag proceeded to the venue of the 16th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States – the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary”, - the statement said.
The agency reminds that the previous 15th meeting of this structure was held in Ashgabat under the chairmanship of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
As is known, the Council of Elders is an advisory body of the Organization of Turkic States, which includes elders of the member countries of the OTS, appointed from among prominent public figures. National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been a member of this Council since April 2022.
The agenda of the current meeting included current issues related to the activities of the Council of Elders and the OTS. The subject of discussion was also the prospects for further joint work of the Organization's member countries, as well as the progress in implementing the recommendations adopted at the 15th meeting held in Ashgabat, clarified the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
