The second day of the ITTC 2024 international conference on sustainable transport has started in Ashgabat

The ITTC 2024 International Conference on Sustainable Transport continues in Ashgabat, the second day of which was devoted to discussing innovative transport solutions and logistics strategies.

The second day will Include three sessions:

Session 3 “Transport Hubs and Corridors” will be devoted to the logistics aspects of border cargo terminals. Speakers include Vadim Zakharenko (International Road Transport Union), Mihail Pokrovsky and Shokirjon Rahmatov.

Session 4 “New Horizons of Industrial Transport” will consider modern technologies and innovations, including electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles. Bekmurat Ishangulyev, Li Haifeng, Nurnepes Kuliyev and other experts will speak.

Session 5 “Innovations in Transit Corridors” will focus on digitalization and new technologies in transport logistics. Presentations will be made by Azat Atamyradov, Chikhan Sunel, Li Sining and representatives of international companies.

The key even’ will be the ministerial meeting of the Group of Friends of Sustainable Transport at the Archabil Hotel, which will bring together high-ranking representatives of the transport industry from different countries. Honorary speakers include Mammethan Chakyev, Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency of Turkmenistan, Su Jian from the Automobile Research Institute of China and Jean Todt, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety.

During the sessions, participants discussed the prospects for the development of transport corridors, digitalization of logistics, innovative technologies in the transport industry and the role of transport in the context of climate change. Particular attention was paid to the issues of electric mobility, autonomous vehicles and reducing the carbon footprint.

The conference will end with an award ceremony and the signing of bilateral documents that will determine the strategic directions for the development of the transport industry in the coming years.
