The forum dedicated to the World Day against Transnational Organized Crime (TOC) was organized at the UN building in Ashgabat on November 19 by the joint efforts of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Turkmenistan and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The event was supported by the "Safe Migration in Central Asia" (SMICA) program and a number of key national partners, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office.
More than 120 youth representatives were invited to the forum.
The meeting was opened by the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko, emphasizing the historical importance of the country's first celebration of World TOC Day. He appealed to Turkmen youth to actively participate in creating a secure future.
Representatives from Skechers, Dap, Ish Nokady, Atavatan News Portal and Parahat also attended the event.
Within the framework of the forum, a ceremonial awarding ceremony for the winners of the online competition “Creative Solutions for a Safe Future” took place.
Many young participants expressed sincere satisfaction with the event, emphasizing its importance and calling for similar forums to be held in the future.
