On November 10, in the Regional Library of Dashoguz velayat, in honor of the Harvest Festival, the Ecological Festival “Development of Ecological Culture” will be held, which is held by UNDP jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Dashoguz city administration, and in partnership with the American Corner in Dashoguz, UNESCO, the NGO “Ekodurmush” and the NGO “Yashyl shohle”.
Environmental culture is the most important aspect of harmonizing relations between man and nature, society and the state, and is a key element of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the nation.
Participants will enjoy a rich program, including sessions on the Aral Sea crisis and desertification, agribusiness and educational opportunities, as well as screenings of environmental films, games, competitions and master classes, according to a UNDP press release.
The festival will feature an exhibition of eco-products, crafts, national clothing, and student research papers. Visitors will be able to taste vegetarian cuisine and purchase eco-products.
There will also be a waste paper collection campaign.
