Results of the second day of the international conference «CIET-2024»

The second day of the international conference «CIET-2024» was filled with discussions of key areas of development of Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, urban development, industry and infrastructure. The program included four thematic sessions with the participation of leading national and international experts.

Energy and chemical industry

At the first session, devoted to the monetization of hydrocarbon resources, the Minister of Energy of Turkmenistan Annageldi Saparov presented the strategy for the development of the energy sector. Particular attention was paid to the modernization of gas chemical complexes and the construction of new power plants. Representatives of Daewoo Engineering and Hyundai Engineering shared their experience in implementing similar projects in the region.

S&P Global Commodity Insights expert Allan Pickett presented an analysis of global trends in the production of chemical fertilizers, emphasizing the growing potential of Turkmenistan in this sector.

Smart city of the future

The second session was devoted to the development of the city of Arkadag. Chairman of the State Construction Committee Deryageldi Orazov presented plans for the creation of medical and industrial clusters. Of particular interest was Vladimir Petruk's report on the introduction of modern standards for earthquake-resistant construction, as well as the prospects for the construction of a metro in Ashgabat.

Industry and financing

The third session discussed issues of production of building materials and financing of infrastructure projects. Minister of Industry Toyguly Nurov presented a program for the development of domestic production. Representatives of international financial institutions, including ADB and Sumitomo Corporation, outlined opportunities for attracting investment.

Public-private partnership

The final session was devoted to the development of public-private partnerships. Chairman of the State Agency for Management of Road Construction Hangeldi Kerimov presented promising projects in the field of transport infrastructure. Representatives of the EBRD and the private sector discussed the legal and financial aspects of implementing joint projects.

Particular attention during all sessions was paid to issues of digitalization and the introduction of innovative technologies in industry, construction and energy. The conference demonstrated Turkmenistan's readiness to implement large-scale projects involving international experience and investment.
