In Ashgabat, at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, preparations for a large-scale scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the introduction of the Turkmen manat were discussed. The event, organized by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, is scheduled for November 1, 2024, TDH reports.
Deputy Prime Minister H. Geldimyradov made a report on the preparations, presenting the program of the upcoming forum. The conference “Turkmen Manat – a Symbol of Sustainable Development of the Country” will cover key aspects of the development of the state’s financial system over the past three decades.
The forum participants will focus on the country’s economic achievements after the introduction of the national currency, the specifics of implementing monetary policy and modernizing the banking sector. Particular attention will be paid to the digitalization of banking services, improving the electronic payment system and developing international financial cooperation.
Representatives of relevant ministries and departments, employees of credit organizations, as well as teachers and specialists from higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of the country have been invited to participate in the conference.
Having heard the report on the preparation for the event, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure a high organizational level of the conference, emphasizing the importance of this event for the country’s financial sector.
Recall that the Turkmen manat was introduced into circulation in 1993, becoming an important symbol of the state’s economic independence and the foundation for the development of the national financial system.
