President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS summit.
As previously reported, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was awarded the Order of the Republic of Tatarstan “Duslyk” for his significant contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.
During the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov noted the progressive development of Turkmen-Tatar relations based on historically established ties of friendship.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the results of the visit would further strengthen bilateral ties. The parties discussed priority issues of partnership, including cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, shipbuilding, chemical industry and the humanitarian sphere.
Along with this, emphasis was placed on the importance of the established fruitful ties in the humanitarian sphere. Here, a wealth of experience has been accumulated in joint work in science, education, culture and art. Mutually beneficial interparliamentary contacts are also being intensified.
Expressing confidence that multifaceted bilateral cooperation will continue to develop dynamically within the framework of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov exchanged wishes for good health and success in responsible state activities.
