At the 23rd meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council in Islamabad, the Turkmen delegation outlined key areas of interaction with the organization. Among them are transport, communications, energy, trade, and investment activities. A proposal was also made to establish direct contacts between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the SCO Business Council, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

At a regular government meeting on Friday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov spoke about the results of the delegation's working visit to Pakistan from October 15 to 17. The visit was held at the invitation of the Pakistani government and on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

During the trip, the Turkmen delegation held a number of important high-level meetings. Negotiations were held with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, where issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation were discussed. Separate meetings were held with the Ministers of Energy and Education of Pakistan.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, having heard the report on the visit, emphasized the importance of developing partnership with international organizations as one of the priority areas of the country's foreign policy. He also noted the importance of traditionally friendly relations with the SCO member countries and instructed the country's Foreign Ministry to continue working to expand cooperation with the organization.
