The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova and the delegation of the European Commission led by the Head of the Central Asia Section of the European External Action Service Dietmar Kriessler.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed a wide range of issues on the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU, including interaction in the Central Asia – European Union format.
The effectiveness of EU projects implemented in Turkmenistan was noted.
Speaking about priority areas, the parties identified such areas as: cooperation on regional security and development, climate issues, environmental protection, green and digital transformations, interaction in the energy sector and the transport and logistics sector.
The meeting participants emphasized that the launch of the Trans-Caspian Coordination Platform for Transport Crossings will contribute to the sustainable economic and social development of the region, the source notes.
