Turkish Airlines, the world's largest airline by destinations, celebrated a major milestone for its Miles&Smiles loyalty program by welcoming its 20 millionth member. The event coincided with the 35th anniversary of the program, which was launched in 1989 for frequent flyers.
Over three and a half decades, Miles&Smiles has grown into a large ecosystem offering members a wide range of opportunities to earn and redeem miles. Customers can earn points not only when flying with Turkish Airlines and Star Alliance partners, but also when shopping with the program’s many partners in the hospitality, travel, car rental and technology sectors.
Accumulated miles can be exchanged for award tickets, upgrades, extra baggage and other services that improve the quality of your travel.
The popularity of the program is evidenced by impressive statistics: over 20 million premium tickets have been issued since the existence of Miles&Smiles. Today, the program has more than 300 partners around the world, including such well-known brands as Booking.com, Marriot, Enterprise, Apple, Ikea, Sephora and Ticketmaster.
