A national-level working meeting on a wide range of issues in the field of climate change was held in Ashgabat on August 29.
The meeting was held within the framework of the UNDP project “Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza” under the coordination of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with the participation of representatives of various ministries and agencies.
The event was aimed at informing representatives of ministries and agencies about the process of preparation of the Fourth National Communication and the First Biennial Report of Turkmenistan under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as discussing the implementation of activities to implement the Nationally Determined Contribution of Turkmenistan under the Paris Agreement.
The participants also considered issues related to the implementation of the Global Methane Commitment and preparation for Turkmenistan's participation in the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC to be held in Baku in November, UNDP press release says.
