One of the examples of modern medical centers operating in Turkmenistan is the Center for Emergency Care in Ashgabat, as well as similar structures in the country's velayats.
The centers' admission departments have a shock room where victims delivered by ambulance service are received, Nurmyrat Kakabaev, Director of the Center for Emergency Care of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, tells the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The shock room is designed to provide first aid to victims and make an accurate diagnosis using the mobile medical equipment available in the room.
In all Centers for Emergency Care in highly specialized departments such as endoscopic surgery, neurotraumatology, thoracoabdominal surgery, general surgery, and in the intensive care and resuscitation department, a rapid diagnosis of diseases is carried out in the shock room and emergency care is provided. This allows for surgical intervention without wasting precious time.
In addition, the equipment available at the Center allows for minimally invasive surgeries, which reduces the patient's hospital stay to 2-3 days and helps reduce treatment costs and quickly restore the patient's ability to work.
For example, the endoscopic surgery department has a modern endovideoscope, which is used to perform numerous endoscopic surgeries. This equipment can also be used as an alternative to diagnostic laparotomy for diagnosing complex abdominal diseases.
Doctors, professors, neurosurgeons, and resuscitators from Germany are invited to the Emergency Care Center in Ashgabat. New modern methods of surgical and conservative treatment are jointly carried out, and lectures and practical classes are organized for specialists from the capital and velayats.
Receiving calls, timely transferring them to doctors of the appropriate profile and fulfilling them in a short period of time is the main task of the Center's call service. The satellite GPS system and radio communication in the Center itself, as well as at its substations, in ambulances contribute to further improvement of the service, improvement of the quality of emergency medical care provided to the population and rational use of ambulances. With the help of the current satellite communication and radio communication system, it is possible to determine the route or location of the ambulance sent on call. The possibility has been created to transmit the next call before arriving at the Center, which allows to improve the quality and ensure maximum efficiency of emergency ambulance care.
The medical helicopter of the air ambulance and the ambulance are equipped with high-quality specialized medical equipment, with the help of which resuscitation care is provided, as well as minor surgical manipulations are performed on the way to the clinic and at the scene of the call or incident.
Patients are transported from any point of the country to specialized centers of the capital, and also quickly and promptly delivered to the place of call with the help of a medical helicopter, noted N. Kakabaev.
