The Turkmen delegation is taking part in the International Volunteer Forum of the CIS Member States, which opened on August 1 in the city of Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.
The forum is attended by 120 delegates from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, reports culture.akipress.org with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan.
The forum is held to strengthen interstate cooperation and develop volunteer activities in the CIS countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and improve the quality of life of the population.
The forum will work in the following directions:
- Exchange of experience and practices in the field of volunteering between CIS member countries;
- Development of cooperation and partnership between volunteer organizations;
- Drawing attention to the importance of volunteering in solving social, environmental and economic problems;
- Integration of the SDGs approved by the UN into the activities of volunteer organizations in the CIS countries;
- Creating conditions for the formation of an active civil society and the involvement of young people in volunteer activities.
The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Culture Marat Tagaev, Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Nurlan Seytimbaev and Regional Manager of the UN Office for Europe and the CIS Rimma Sabaeva.
