1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the new US Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Elizabeth Rood. During the ceremony of presenting her credentials, the diplomat conveyed greetings and best wishes from US President Joseph Biden, confirming her country’s interest in strengthening friendly interstate relations. During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the fruitful nature of the interstate dialogue developing in the political and diplomatic sphere.

2. The President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye Alparslan Bayraktar. During the meeting, prospects for strengthening bilateral relations in the energy sector were discussed. Among the key topics are the transportation of Turkmen gas to Türkiye and Europe, as well as the construction of a power plant on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is ready to continue cooperation with Türkiye in the energy sector, relying on centuries-old ties and mutual trust.

3. The stage of passing entrance exams to higher educational institutions has begun in Turkmenistan. In the new academic year, it is planned to admit 15 926 students, which is 303 more than last year. Of the total number of applicants, 15 303 people will be accepted into specialty and bachelor's programs, and 623 into master's programs.

4. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed the hyakims and deputy hyakims of several etraps of the country for failure to fulfill their duties and appointed new leaders in their places. According to the decrees of the President, new leaders have been appointed to the Kaahka and Tejen etraps of the Ahal velayat, the Esenguly etrap of the Balkan velayat, the Mary, Iolotan, Murgab etraps of the Mary velayat and the Chardzhev etrap of the Lebap velayat.

5. A representative of Turkmenistan took part in the first world cucumber crunch championship, which was held in the village of Istobensk, Kirov region. Representatives from 13 countries competed for victory. At the end of the championship, the winner was Egyptian citizen Ahmed Salah with a result of 70,9 decibels.

6. An exhibition of the Saudi Arabian Embassy entitled “Two Holy Mosques through the Ages, the Beauty of Manuscripts and Their Rare Samples” opened at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. During the opening ceremony, master classes on calligraphy were held, and national treats and Arabic coffee were prepared for visitors.

7. The Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan Vyacheslav Beskosty and the General Director of the Agency of Transport and Communications, co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarusian Commission on Economic Cooperation Mammethan Chakyev held negotiations. The parties discussed preparations for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission. The interlocutors noted the growing interest of Belarusian producers in the transit opportunities of Turkmenistan.

10. The “Altyn Tach” football team from Ashgabat successfully performed at the international children's tournament Laola Cup 2024 in Hamburg, winning three bronze medals in various age categories. Young athletes from Turkmenistan demonstrated a high level of play, competing with teams from more than 46 countries. The tournament brought together about 200 teams in five age categories. “Altyn Tach” was represented by three teams – players born in 2009, 2011 and 2013.

11. On August 1, a unique football event will be held in Minsk - “The Unplayed match”, dedicated to the memory of “Pakhtakor” players who died in a plane crash 45 years ago. The match will be attended by “Pakhtakor” players from the 1979 squad who did not make it on the fateful flight, as well as veterans of “Dynamo” Minsk, who were supposed to meet with the Tashkent team within the framewokr of the USSR Championship. The tragedy that occurred on August 11, 1979, claimed the lives of 178 people, including 17 players and members of the “Pakhtakor” coaching staff. The collision of two Tu-134 aircraft in the sky over Dneprodzerzhinsk became one of the worst disasters in the history of Soviet sports. The widows and children of the deceased athletes will be the guests of honor at the memorable match. Entrance to the stadium will be free.
