President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the visit of the Turkish minister will contribute to the development of cooperation between the two countries. Alparslan Bayraktar conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, key issues were discussed, such as the transportation of Turkmen gas to Turkey and Europe, as well as the construction of a power plant on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan is ready to continue cooperation with Turkey in the energy sector, relying on centuries-old ties and mutual trust.

Particular attention was paid to discussing the possibilities for the participation of Turkish companies in the development of the fuel and energy sector, ore production, transport and communications, agriculture and investment. In this context, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the Republic of Turkey occupies one of the leading positions in the foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan, and there are huge opportunities for the development of fruitful bilateral and regional relations.

An Important aspect of the meeting was the discussion of documents signed in March of this year, such as the “Declaration of Intent on Cooperation in the Field of Hydrocarbon Resources” and the “Memorandum of Mutual Cooperation on the Development of Partnership in the Field of Natural Gas.” These documents serve as an important legal basis for the further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector.

The prospects for the construction of a combined cycle power plant on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea were also discussed, which would allow exporting Turkmen electricity to neighboring countries through the Caspian Sea, as well as supplying it to Turkey and other countries. The President of Turkmenistan confirmed his readiness to consider proposals and support the initiatives of the Turkish side in this direction.

At the end of the meeting, confidence was expressed that strategic interstate cooperation will continue to develop successfully for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples and countries.
