Turkmenistan has implemented a “Single Window for Export-Import Operations” system. In order to ensure the availability of the system for participants in foreign economic activity, a single state information web portal www.tradebridge.gov.tm was created.
The mechanism permits all users to provide information about goods or vehicles passing through the customs border at a single point of submission and to fulfill all requirements for the execution of export and import operations.
As reported on the website of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, currently about 5 000 participants in foreign economic activity are registered in the system, and the number of applications submitted in electronic form and processed by authorized bodies is more than 20 000.
This system involves 16 ministries and their 22 structural divisions of the country's industry departments, which issue electronic licenses, certificates and other permits for goods and vehicles transported across the customs border.
When implementing the “Single Window for Export-Import Operations” system, the recommendations and standards of the UN, the World Customs Organization and the World Trade Organization were used. The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is the coordinator of this project in the country.
