Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea signed a solid package of bilateral documents

Negotiations between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-Yeol, who arrived in the country on a state visit, ended in Ashgabat, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

Following the meeting in an expanded format, a signing ceremony of a package of bilateral documents took place:

  • Agreement on cooperation between the State Concern “Türkmenhimiýa” and the company “Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd”.
  • The agreement is aimed at implementing measures and work for the successful commissioning and stable operation of the polymer plant in Gyyanly.
  • Framework agreement on cooperation between the State Concern “Turkmengaz” and the company “Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd”.
  • The agreement provides for the design, construction and acquisition of commercial gas treatment facilities with a capacity of 10 billion cubic meters and wells at the IV stage of the “Galkynyş” gas field.
  • Memoranda of Understanding in the field of health:
  • between the Emergency Ambulance Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and “Chilgok” Hospital at Kyungpook University of the Republic of Korea;
  • between the Scientific and Clinical Center of Oncology of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and “Chilgok” Hospital at Kyungpook University of the Republic of Korea.
  • Memoranda of cooperation in other areas:
  • between the Hyakimlik of the city of Ashgabat and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea in the field of energy infrastructure and the development of new cities;
  • between the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation;
  • between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on providing assistance to the activities of the joint cooperation commission;
  • between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the creation of a framework for stimulating trade and investment.

The presidents of the two countries also signed a Joint Statement following the state visit of the President of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan.
