The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan hosted a solemn event dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the press service of the embassy reported to Turkmenportal.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan Gismet Gezalov and other guests laid flowers at the bust of Heydar Aliyev installed in the embassy building.

During the event, opened by Ambassador Gezalov, an extensive program dedicated to the life and work of Heydar Aliyev was presented. Particular emphasis was placed on the invaluable contribution of Heydar Aliyev to the formation of the modern Azerbaijani state. His far-sighted policy aimed at strengthening the country's independence, its economic development and improving the well-being of the people was noted.
Much attention was paid to the international activities of Heydar Aliyev, his diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening peace and mutual understanding between peoples.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok, as well as representatives of the public, media and the Azerbaijani diaspora in Turkmenistan.
