President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in digital format, at which the results of work done in various sectors of the economy in the first four months of 2024 were reviewed, as well as other important issues were discussed.
Chairman of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova informed about the results of the parliament’s activities during the period under review, TDH reports.
It is noted that 9 laws of Turkmenistan and 11 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted. Among the new legal acts are the laws “On the establishment of the anniversary medal “300 years of Magtymguly Fragi”, “On energy saving and efficient use of energy”, “On hydrometeorological activities”, “On the ratification of the Agreement between Turkmenistan and China on international road transport”. In addition, appropriate changes and additions were made to a number of existing laws of the country.
Currently, together with representatives of ministries and departments, bills are being prepared aimed at protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, carefully preserving cultural heritage, developing the economy and agriculture, and improving the standard of living of the population.
During this period, a seminar on modern methods and principles of legislative activity was organized for students of the Academy of Civil Service under the President of Turkmenistan, with the participation of deputies of the Mejlis.
On behalf of the head of state, credentials were accepted from ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of a number of countries. As part of strengthening productive relations with foreign parliaments and international
organizations, 13 meetings were held during this period. In addition, deputies took part in more than 30 seminars on improving legislation, organized jointly with authoritative structures. In order to study best practices, foreign trips of Turkmen parliamentarians took place.
Information was also presented on the participation of Mejlis deputies in events to explain to the general public the main directions of state policy, the country’s achievements and the goals of the adopted legal acts.
