Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation increased their trade turnover by 13% at the end of 2023. This figure reached 52 million USD, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the head of the Russian region, Rustam Minnikhanov.
“Leading Tatarstan companies have been successfully operating in Turkmenistan for many years. Last year, the volume of our trade turnover increased by 13% and amounted to 52 million USD”, - said the head of Tatarstan during a meeting in Ashgabat with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
At the meeting, the potential for increasing cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tatarstan in the field of gas transportation, oil production, automobile, aircraft and shipbuilding, as well as agriculture and energy was emphasized.
At the meeting, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov touched upon the important topic of cultural exchanges and cooperation. Last year, the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan were successfully held in Turkmenistan, and a vibrant international festival of national cultures “Oriental Bazaar” was held in Kazan. Plans for 2024 include holding the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Tatarstan.
