Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers M. Chakiyev reported at a government meeting on measures taken to train highly qualified specialists in the field of road transportation in the country, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
Based on the results of an analysis of cargo transportation carried out by the “Turkmenavtoulaglary” Agency together with the Public Association “Association of International Road Carriers of Turkmenistan”, a member of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), the need for professional training of drivers and operators involved in international road transport was identified.
In this regard, a proposal was made to open a training center by the Association of Automotive Schools and the Public Association “Association of International Road Carriers of Turkmenistan”, which will be accredited by the IRU.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, summarizing the report, emphasized the importance of training international-level specialists for the transport and logistics industry. This will significantly expand road freight routes from the country, including to European countries.
The head of state approved the proposal to open a training center with IRU accreditation and ordered the commencement of relevant work in this direction.
