The United Nations World Tourism Organization intends to intensify cooperation with Turkmenistan, attracting a large number of international experts to create multilateral tourism products. This was stated by UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili on the sidelines of the international tourism forum in Ashgabat, reports the online radio “Voice of the CIS”.

The Secretary General emphasized that this was his first visit to the country, which made the most positive impression on him. He also noted that colossal work has been done in Turkmenistan over the past 30 years.

“Having arrived in this wonderful country, I had the opportunity to personally verify the fruitfulness and effectiveness of the current reforms. Today, Turkmenistan has created a high-quality infrastructure for the active development of the tourism industry. Therefore, this country has enormous potential to attract tourists from all over the world,” the Secretary General said.

The head of the UNWTO noted that now only the initial stage of partnership with Turkmenistan is underway and expressed confidence that in the future many joint projects will be implemented that will benefit the country, the UNWTO and tourism lovers, the source notes.

We previously reported that Korea plans to widely popularize the tourism potential of Turkmenistan.

Let us remind you that today the International Conference “Main directions and opportunities for the development of tourism in Turkmenistan” was held in Ashgabat.
