The Turkmen Logistics Association, which unites over 150 transport and logistics companies of Turkmenistan, signed a memorandum with the Russian Afanasy Nikitin Association, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.

The purpose of the document is to assist each other in the development of forwarding and transport logistics at the bilateral and regional levels.

The signing of the memorandum was the next step in the implementation of the policy of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, aimed at expanding transport connectivity with countries around the world.

Thanks to these efforts, the country is becoming an important link on international transit routes and opening up new opportunities for Turkmen logisticians.

Turkmen Logistics has already concluded about 20 similar partnership agreements with associations from Europe, Asia and the CIS countries. The Russian association "Afanasy Nikitin" is involved in projects for the North-South transport corridor in the Volga-Caspian region. Its key goal is to create a unified logistics structure for the export of agricultural products from the Volga and Caspian regions to the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean.

In April, the forum “Transport Logistics of the Caspian Region 2024” will be held in Astrakhan, where Turkmen partners will be represented at the invitation of the Afanasy Nikitin Association. Experts note that the infrastructure of Turkmenistan meets the objectives of the North-South ITC, and the country can become an important transport hub.
