The Turkmenistan national football team arrived in Dubai for a training camp before the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Iran in March.
The team's training camp under the leadership of head coach Mergen Orazov in the UAE will last until March 19. Then Turkmen football players from Dubai will fly to Tehran for the match of the third round of the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament against the Iranian national team. This meeting will be held on March 21 at the “Azadi” stadium and will begin at 22:00 Ashgabat time.
Immediately after the away match, the national team of Turkmenistan will return to Ashgabat and begin preparations for the home match against the Iranian team. This match will be held on Tuesday, March 26, at the “Ashgabat” stadium and will begin at 20:00 local time.
Earlier it was reported that the coaching staff of the Turkmenistan national team announced the list of football players to participate in the March training camp and qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup. The list includes 24 football players, including three foreign players: Teymur Charyev from the Kyrgyz “Abdysh-Ata”, Vepa Jumayev from the Belarusian “Vitebsk” and Ruslan Mingazov from the Hong Kong “Kitchee”.
In March, head coach Mergen Orazov's wards will also have to hold a control meeting with Kazakhstan, which will be held behind closed doors on March 14.
