The IV Open International Olympiad in Mathematics began its work at the International University of Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan. This large-scale event brought together talented students from more than 50 leading universities in the world, including educational institutions from Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Bulgaria, Spain, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, the Turkmenportal correspondent reports.

Participants of the Olympiad were greeted with national dances, songs in different languages and treated to traditional Turkmen dishes, creating an atmosphere of hospitality and familiarity with the rich culture of the organizing country. In total, over 500 students came to Ashgabat to compete in individual and team competitions.

The Olympiad is held in two languages: Turkmen and English, which promotes language exchange and mutual understanding between participants. During the five-day marathon, not only intellectual competitions are planned, but also various cultural events for foreign guests.

The ceremonial summing up and awarding of the winners will be held on March 8, International Women's Day, which gives special significance to this event.

It is worth noting that last year Turkmen students demonstrated outstanding results, winning 20 gold, 37 silver and 63 bronze medals in the individual competition. This indicates a high level of mathematical education in the country and gives hope for new achievements of Turkmen participants.
