In Ashgabat, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with a delegation headed by Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Han Mottaki who arrived in Turkmenistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports this.
The Afghan delegation included representatives of various government agencies, including the Ministry of Mining and Petroleum, the energy company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, and the Afghan Railways Authority.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues in bilateral relations. In particular, an analysis was carried out of the current situation regarding the implementation of large energy and transport projects with the participation of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.
The parties exchanged views on the further promotion of the TAPI gas pipeline, TAP power transmission line, and construction of railways from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan. The readiness of both sides to continue the construction of these facilities in Afghanistan was noted.
The training of highly qualified personnel for Afghanistan in Turkmen universities and colleges was also discussed.
The parties agreed to continue dialogue between the foreign ministries of the two countries on a regular basis.
