A decade after the end of the film saga, the story of the young wizard Harry Potter will receive a new incarnation in the form of a series. Streaming service Max (formerly HBO Max) has announced plans to film all seven of J.K. Rowling's books, with the first season premiering in 2026. Snob.ru reports this with reference to Variety.
Head of Warner Bros. Discovery's David Zaslav shared that the showrunners of the project are looking forward to presenting fans with a fresh take on a familiar and beloved story.
The creators of the series have already held a meeting with J.K. Rowling to enlist her support and discuss the details of the project. The series is planned to consist of seven seasons, one for each book. At the same time, the main roles will be played by new actors who are not involved in the films of the franchise. Daniel Radcliffe, who previously portrayed Harry Potter, has already announced his lack of interest in participating in the series.
Let us remind that the development of the "Harry Potter" series became known in the spring of 2023. At the same time, a teaser was presented, accompanied by the music of John Williams, familiar to fans. One of the executive producers of the project will be J.K. Rowling herself.
