Turkmen-Georgian inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs consultations were held in Ashgabat. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammedov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Alexander Khvtisiashvili, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues regarding the current state and prospects of political and diplomatic cooperation, trade and economic partnership and cultural and humanitarian ties between countries.
The high effectiveness and importance of constant contacts at different levels were especially noted, where the key factor in deepening relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia are meetings at the level of heads of state and government.

Diplomats positively assessed the productive nature of inter-Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperation and the close interaction of countries in the international arena. They spoke in favor of expanding interparliamentary relations through intensifying the activities of bilateral interparliamentary friendship groups.

The areas of transport, energy, trade, agriculture, tourism, as well as scientific and cultural exchanges were identified as promising areas of bilateral partnership.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue to maintain diplomatic contacts in accordance with previously outlined plans.
