Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov announced a number of the country's initiatives in the field of transport and energy security during the World Government Summit (WGS 2024) in Dubai, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
In particular, it was proposed to create:
- Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity,
- Alliance for Cooperation in the Field of Global Energy Security and Sustainable Development,
- Global Framework for the Transition to a Circular Economy.
The initiatives are designed to help address transport and energy priorities based on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The head of the Turkmen delegation recalled that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly has already adopted six resolutions on sustainable transport. The proposals put forward in Dubai continue the country's course towards active participation in solving global problems as a responsible member of the international community.
