On January 31, in the village of Gyyanly, Turkmenbashy etrap, Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan, a foundation-laying ceremony was held for the construction of a 7-kilometer water pipeline from the existing desalination plant to residential villages within the framework of the “Water for Life” Project, “PETRONAS” reported to Turkmenportal.
The event was attended by representatives of the PETRONAS Charigali company, led by Vice President for International Assets Mark Fitzgerald, representatives of the “Turkmengas” State Corporation, the mayor's office of the Turkmenbashy etrap, the archins of the villages of Guvlymayak and Gyyanly and the management of the “Turkmenbashyagyzsuv” enterprise.
The “Water for Life” project includes the construction of a pumping station at a seawater desalination plant, a main water supply system, two reservoirs with a volume of 200 m3 each in the village of Gyyanly and two reservoirs with a volume of 400 m3 each in the settlement of Guvlymayak, as well as an extensive water supply system in both settlements points.
