According to a study by Live Data Technologies, in 2023, remote workers were fired 35% more often than office workers. The study analyzed data on 2 million employees. This is reported by daily.afisha.ru with reference to The Wall Street Journal.
Last year, 10% of completely remote workers lost their jobs, while 7% of office and hybrid (those who combine) workers lost their jobs. In two months of 2023, 12% of completely remote employees decided to change jobs themselves, and among office and hybrid workers, 9%.
"When a hiring manager knows they're going to have to cut 10 percent of their workforce, it's easier to include someone with whom you don't have a close personal relationship," said Andy Challenger, senior vice president of recruiting firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
