At the next meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which was held via a digital system by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the head of state ordered to strengthen control over the effective and rational use of water resources, TDH reports.
Reportedly, the meeting discussed issues of seasonal work in the agro-industrial complex and environmental activities. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahalliyev reported on the progress of preparations for sowing cotton in the regions and the appropriate care of wheat fields.
Programs are being implemented to preserve the country's flora and fauna for future generations, their scientific study and restoration.
It was also reported that experiments on growing Turkmen juniper, dagdan tree and pistachio trees, as well as rare and valuable plant species found in specially protected natural areas, are being conducted at the scientific and experimental sites of state natural reserves of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
In addition, in state nature reserves and state sanctuaries, research work is carried out to preserve wild animals, birds migrating and wintering in our country, and to count the number of representatives of rare species of fauna.
After hearing the report, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to constantly focus on the organization and timely high-quality implementation of agrotechnical measures for growing crops.
Speaking about the continuation of work to create additional water reserves, the head of state gave the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers an instruction to strengthen control over the effective and targeted use of water resources.
An instruction was also given to monitor comprehensive activities to preserve and enrich the country’s unique ecological systems, flora and fauna.
