On February 4, the commander of the “Roscosmos” cosmonaut corps, Hero of Turkmenistan Oleg Kononenko will set a new absolute record for the duration of a person’s stay in space.

In this regard, the “Red October” factory prepared a special gift for him - chocolates with an exclusively natural composition. The sweet gift will be sent to the International Space Station by the “Progress MS-26” transport cargo ship, TASS reports.

The psychological support service for Russian cosmonauts stated:

“Together with congratulations, we will send candy to Oleg Dmitrievich to sweeten the joy of his new achievement”.

The same “Progress MS-26” will send a gift for Russian cosmonaut Nikolai Chub. His family prepared handmade souvenirs for him.

“We won’t say what exactly, yet, the family asked to keep it a secret so as not to spoil the surprise”, - noted the support service.

The launch of the “Progress MS-26” spacecraft is scheduled for February 15.

Let us remind that on September 15, 2023, Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub went to the ISS on a one-year mission.

Oleg Kononenko was born and raised in the east of Turkmenistan, in Turkmenabat. In 2019, he was awarded the title of Hero of Turkmenistan.

We previously reported that Oleg Kononenko shared a photograph of Ashgabat at night from space.
