During his working visit to Japan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with the country's Minister of Digital Affairs Taro Kono, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The parties discussed partnership issues in the field of digitalization of the economy and infrastructure, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other advanced IT solutions.
As noted, during the meeting new areas of cooperation between the two states in the field of digital technologies and innovation were outlined. In addition, the delegation from Turkmenistan held negotiations at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, as well as with representatives of the country’s large IT companies - NTT Group and NEC Corporation.
The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the transport, logistics and telecommunications fields. It was noted that digitalization is one of the priority areas of the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Japan.
